Panthers Agree to Terms with Forward Sandis Vilmanis
The Florida Panthers have advanced to the Second Round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs after defeating the Boston Bruins in seven games in the First Round. The Panthers overcame a 3-1 series deficit against the Bruins, who were the Presidents Trophy winners this season.
Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has been named a finalist for the Vezina Trophy, which is awarded to the NHL's top goaltender. Bobrovsky had a 3.01 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage in the regular season, and he has a 2.93 GAA and a .919 save percentage in the playoffs.
The Panthers have also agreed to terms with forward Sandis Vilmanis on a three-year entry-level contract. Vilmanis, 19, was a second-round pick by the Panthers in the 2023 NHL Draft. He had 25 goals and 24 assists in 64 games with Luleå HF in the Swedish Hockey League this season.
